			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>More important is the safety of your child that the protection and presentation of the crib, some experts suggest: should remove the plastic covers of the new mattress, until the baby can sit avoid putting things above the crib, avoid using bulky blankets.</p>
<p>Before you start shopping for that bundle of joy you&#8217;re expecting, consider some advice from local experts on the things you shouldn&#8217;t buy for your baby&#8217;s crib.</p>
<p>Dr. Jocelyn A. Dummett, medical director and pediatrician at Middletown Community Health Center, and Nancy Laterra-Ferraro, pediatric nurse practitioner at Chelsea Pediatrics in Goshen, weighed in on crib dangers that could harm your baby.</p>
<p>Here are five things you should never put in — or near — your newborn or infant&#8217;s crib:</p>
<p>DON&#8217;TS 1. Plastic covers or an ill-fitting mattress that wasn&#8217;t made for the crib</p>
<p>&#8220;Sometimes a family will get a hand-me-down crib without a mattress,&#8221; said Dummett, &#8220;so the parent goes out and buys one. Make sure you buy a mattress that fits the crib. For newborns to 12 months, you should be able to fit no more than two fingers between the mattress and the wall of the crib.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dummett also strongly advises parents who purchase new mattresses to take off the plastic cover.</p>

She is suddenly waking up every few hours during the night for a feeding and changing, she finds that she sleeps only when the baby sleeps, and not to mention the amount of laundry that she is going through with the new baby. Due to this new way of life, the sex drive of the woman is more than likely going to decrease. But why does this happen?<br />
After a baby, especially the first child, the hormones in the body are going haywire. This is the time in which many women develop depression that is called postpartum depression due to her changing life. Because of this, she may not feel as pretty or sexy as she used to since she may be carrying around a little bit of extra weight due to the pregnancy. Or she may just feel run down due to her nerves being on edge and her sleep pattern being messed up.<br />
For those women that are breastfeeding, this can also lead to a decreased sexual drive. Because of breast feeding, estrogen deceases, which is a vital hormone to have in regard to sexual drive. Many women find that because of this lack of estrogen that have vaginal dryness and a feeling that they are being pocked and prodded by pins and needles when they do try to have sex. Needless to say, they become less and less sexually aroused because of this sensation.<br />
So what can a woman do? Honestly, time will make the desire for sex come back. As you get into the swing of being a new mother, you will become more yourself. Which means that you will get passed the constant feeling of being stressed out. In addition, if you can take the time to drop the weight and improve your self-esteem you may notice that the sex drive comes back naturally because you have gained back that self-esteem that you may have lost. In addition, if you have depression, once the medication sets in, you will notice a difference. However, if after a few months after the arrival of the baby and you do not seem to notice a change in your sex drive and it is still what some may consider low, talk to your gynecologist. There could be a multitude of other reasons why you still have not regained your previous sex drive and they could warrant the use of medications as treatment.</div>

However, instead of using chemicals to treat a burn, there are a few ways that you can treat the burn yourself with items that many people have laying around the house. And if you do not have them, they are great things to have in the house, because everyone will experience a burn at some point in their life. However, keep in mind that these natural treatments are only for those burns that are first and second degree burns. Third degree burns require that you seek medical attention immediately because these are serious burns that may require having to have a skin graft in order to heal properly.<br />
The first round of treatment for a burn is to apply a cool compress. Ice cubes, or a bag of vegetables that are frozen in your freezer are not the things to use for a compress because these are too cold. A damp rag that you have ran under cool water for a few moments is the best option. You will want to leave this cool compress on for about fifteen minutes or so, and this will help the pain to subside slightly.<br />
Next, you should apply aloe vera to the area. The best form of aloe that you can get is straight from the plant. You simply snip out a bit of the tip of the plant and squeeze the gel onto the burn area. However, if you do not have this, aloe vera that you purchase from the store is fine to use. This will promote healing of the burn and also lessen the pain.<br />
You can also use Vitamin E oil that you find in capsule form. This can be purchased from the store and you simply pierce the capsule with a pin and place on the burn. This is known to help the burn to heal more naturally. Combining the Vitamin E and aloe is a great way to lessen the pain and promote healing.<br />
For those that do not have any of these products on hand, baking soda is also worked for many people to take away the pain from the burn. In addition, mustard, the simply condiment that most people have in their refrigerator, will also help to relieve the pain from the burn. However, neither of these products work to heal the burn, which is why having aloe vera on hand is a great product to have around your house.</div>
